Balloon Printing

In my other printing post, I told you to look in unexpected places for things to print with.  I found balloons.  All you have to do is blow them up a little bit, about the size of a baseball.  Then rubber band it shut, don't tie it, because then you can use it over again.  Make sure you have a paper towel and baby wipes handy.

Now get a piece of cardstock or something to paint on.  Pour a bit of paint out and dab the balloon into it.  Get some of the excess paint off by dabbing the balloon on a separate piece of paper. Now have some fun creating cool textured cards.

And here is the finished product.

I added lightning to this to make it look like a storm.  I hope this proves useful!

Another Wall Letter

Two or three months ago I made a wall letter to go on our wall.  No, I didn't just paint one that I bought, I made one.  And I am never doing it again.  I made it out of cardboard, cereal boxes, paint, paper-mache, and lots of tape.  It took me so long to make... oh the memories.  Anyway, in the process I learned an awesome trick; the opposite of stressing wood. I really wanted that distressed look, but you can't sand card board and paper mache. Here is the result of all the work:

First: Paint your store bought (don't dare to make one) letter dark brown (I used Apple Barrel's Burnt Umber)

Second: Take an old rag and rub black shoe polish on the edges of the letter

Third: Hang it on the wall to admire.

Enjoy your new work of art! And if you really do want to make your own letter out of cardboard, you can, because I did it, and I only 12 (it just takes a lot of patience)

Major Bedroom Redo: My New Comforter!

After all the quilt searching I finally found one!  I think I am really picky, but I can't help it.  I'm so glad I found it because I had been mourning about the quilt that was out of stock. Look how cute it is (this is the old one that was out of stock)!

And now, my new comforter!!!  It is exactly what I wanted! I got it at Target and its by Xhilaration.  I also got a green chair to match, all the college dorm stuff is out right now, so its the perfect time to be bedroom shopping.
